Hello, Im building true nas on Asus X99 WS/IPMI motherboard with i7-6850k. I've bought 3x4TB WD Black SN850X M.2 2280 PCI-E x4 Gen4 NVMe and Icy Box PCIe 4.0 x4 - M.2 PCIe NVMe adapters. The problem is that my motherboard does not detect these drives. When I plug an M.2 drive directly into the motherboard, it works fine. I’ve also tested the adapter on a different PC, and it works there too. Could this be due to a BIOS setting? I’ve tried using just one slot, and a GPU in the same slot works fine. Do you have any clues? Could this be a compatibility issue I’m not aware of? I’ve read the manual several times and found nothing. I’ve also disabled secure boot and CSM, but that didn’t help

PCIe slots have to support bifurcation.

PCIe slots have to support bifurcation.
But Im using one adapter in one pcie16 slot so there is no need for bifurcation. Ive tested this adapter on different pc without bifurcation and was working fine
Are you placing the Icy Box card in slot 16_2 per the chart on page 1-10 of the manual? Since the card is designed to be totally powered by the pcie slot, are you sure there is enough power?
Yes, Ive used it in 16_2 slot. Hmm but when it comes to power I think so, power supply is 1000W as previously there was rtx 3080 in this PC. However I didnt plug "D" EATX (manual page 1-37) but its 6 pin and Im not sure what to do if my "CPU" plus from power supply are 4 or 8 pins

PCIe x16 can supply 75W which should be plenty.
