Hi everyone, i'm new to overclocking and i'm having a bit of a issue, i'm using intel xtu to overclock my i7 9700k to 5ghz and it runs stable at 1.375v, but that's on 2133mhz memory, then i reboot i go to bios and load xmp profile1 (2666mhz) and when i go to xtu and load the profile I run into BSOD, I tried doing the xmp profile first and then overclocking but it just crashes no matter what frequency i type in.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

If you want a stable OC for your CPU I suggest you do it on BIOS and not using XTU. Start with default voltage and increase in little steps 50-100Hz and test for stability.

How test for stability? Daily work that you do with the rig, like games, videos and things like that.

After finding the high stable frequency at default voltage, move on to rise in little steps the voltage NOT beyond 1.3V. Again, test for stability.

After that you find the voltage and frequency stable, move on to enable XMP and try again.
