i was told u can only oc to such limits due to your ram. now i'm getting a conroe rig and since i won't be able to take full ocing advantage of the E6600 i'm thinking of going with the E6400. also i'm getting ddr2 800 ram. now how high can i oc the E6400 with that kind of memory? trying to aim for 2.6ghz first time than a year later to 3.0ghz.

Your motherboard will be one of the biggest factors in your Conroes ability to overclock. Cooling will also become a roadblock once the FSB and clockspeed/vCore start getting raised. With the 6400, 2.6GHz should be attainable as that will require an FSB of 325. 3.0 GHz will require an FSB of 375...harder to reach depending on motherboard. The DDR2-800 RAM will work well in your overclocking,if it's good quality RAM, and if not, you can use a memory divider to lower the RAM speed to take it out of the O/C equation.
