The small fraction is bigger than they're making it out to be. Significantly enough that a bill couldn't be passed without their support, even with bipartisan support.

Though, you have to admit, they're in there doing what they were voted in to do. That speaks volumes I think.. I think you're seeing some people who aren't corrupted by the political landscape.

I think you are seeing what happens when people listen to an idiot like Cruz.

All he did was alienate the public who vote republican who are mildly conservative and working class.

Thats a lot of the core people the Republican party need to appeal to.

Many of the centre right republicans have lost any sense of confidence that these idiots can do anything but damage their party further.

The TEA Party twits are mostly in gerrymandered electorates which won't change - in fact may strengthen their own personal votes next time.

But this has damaged the republican party to the extent they must be thinking they would be better off without the extreme (and disparate) vies of the TEA Party nuts.

Its a bit like having to consider cutting off your right foot in order to survive.

If I was Boehner I'd cut these idiots adrift and start pushing a moderate but concessional mandate for balancign the future budget, but accept the Bush era cuts must go.

If the additional taxes and budget cuts were able to balance the budget, then people (many dems) would think much more kindly of the GOP.

Anyway, I'm an outsider so the news coverage I see, and my lack of understanding of US Politics, probably means everything I wrote was dribble.

Im really hoping that the republican/teas party will die off so the Dems can take the place of the conservative party and we can maybe get a real liberal party in office.

You're a left wing nut buddy. haha

The Bush era cuts are gone. Republicans let that go in the January plea deal. That is to supposedly increase revenue $650 billion dollars this year. But if you look at last year's revenue with Bush cuts and this year revenue after cuts, you only see a 100 billion difference, which is what was on par prior to those cuts.

So from a Republican stand point, we have $650 billion in new revenue allowed this past January, now Dems are trying to lay more taxes on medical devices, individual mandates, etc.

Overall, it supposed to account for a $1.1 trillion, a year, tax increase. Keep in mind, Federal Revenue is about $2.5 this year.

Hey Rey.

The average convict makes $85k a year ($16xx/wk). Your Aussie taxes are LOWER than in the US for the middle class. Your highest tax is around 40%, which in the US is 36.9% I think.

Aussie make more and pay less in taxes. In the US, we make less and pay more.

The Average American makes $50k a year and falls into the 25% tax bracket.

You cannot blame the American people they are fed up with crap and the political theatre in Washington D.C.Give us leaders who can lead not cow down to every whim the GOP Party wants!

You're right Marv. We should remove the debt ceiling, not require a budget, and let the government spend without regard to revenue.

Because living on Credit is the way to go these days.. no dire consequences, no sir.
