Question Okay internet but bad ping spikes ?

Hello
I've been having ping spikes go from 70-80 to 300-400. I want to figure out why. I have wired connection to my pc from my router, Any advice or info yall need and can use to help me would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please parse the make and model of your router? You should check and see what firmware version you're on at the time of writing. As for your Ethernet port, if you're on a desktop, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard(if you're on the bundled NIC), that your OS is up to date(assuming you're on Windows 10) then try uninstalling NIC drivers then reinstalling your NIC's driver in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Adminsitrator.

See if that alleviates your ping issues.
