Question Old Apple Hard Disk

Can i recover files from old apple hard drive? i stopped using that many months back, but few important files i require. So before going to perform any actions on it, i would like to know whether it is possible or not?

Actually, i connected old disk to my MacBook but the connected drive is not visible. So before i carry out any actions on it, i just posted my question like that. What do i do now? drive is not visible
