Hi,

First off, I'm new on these forums so be gentle 😉

Im looking to upgrade my RAM since its only 4gb's atm and I feel like my PC is slow because of it.
I got an ASUS P7P55D motherboard and a Intel Core i7 860 Boxed CPU running at 2933 MHZ.

My full PC can be seen at http://tweakers.net/gallery/650194/wenslijst/?wish_id=685768. It's a dutch website since I am dutch :)

Ive found the QVL for my motherboard but its kinda outdated and I can't seem to find any of the tested RAM. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Gideon

The i5-750 CPU is natively DDR3-1333. Anything higher requires CPU BCLK overclock.

Most newer RAM modules must boot at DDR3-1600 due to the latest JEDEC standard. You can hope that the DDR3-1600+ RAM you buy has the ability to boot at DDR3-1333, or you can just get DDR3-1333 and know for sure it will.

If XMP option available in BIOS, and RAMs are XMP capable, then you should be able to run them at 1600 with 0 issues.
