Pimping guns.. for show.

Why not. You put lights in your computer case? Wax your car? Same thing. It actually looks a lot better than those crappy pictures show. And yes I have 2 Sigs and 3 Glocks. It can be hard to tell the mags apart. 10mm is pretty easy just from the size but try telling a 9mm from a .40 and a .357 Sig. Even doing it visually can be pretty hard or impossible in low light. This makes it easy to tell as long as you can see anything at all. I did it on the magazines first and liked it so much I did it on the slides as well.

I stuck with white on the slides and red for the Glock mags logo but look on youtube and you will see guys doing zombie green and pink for the wife's guns.

You are French correct? Just curious if can you buy the same guns your police use? That Sig SP 2022 is the firearm of all the French police and the order for them was the largest order for any pistol post World War II anywhere in the world. Great little gun. I don't remember seeing gun shops in France. Switzerland on the other hand has as many as here in the US. Of course Switzerland was the only county in Europe I remember seeing gun shops in. Strange since European police carry submachine guns on the street. You will not see that here.

I was wondering why you chose fingernail polish to do it, instead of an automotive or metal grade of paint?

Fingernail polish is really not designed to last but may last recessed like that indefinitely?

TV shows like "The Goodies" are an excellent example of satire.

If the rest of the guys here took me seriously I'd have so many bullet holes in me now I'd look like Gadaffi ...

Fingernail polish is really not designed to last but may last recessed like that indefinitely?

From what I have read of other people doing it this is the easiest, least messy way of doing it. Apparently removing the excess paint when using the other types of paint you mentioned can be difficult. You don't really want to use anything more powerful than non acetone remover on your finish as well. Also from what I have read it will last a much longer time than you would think. As in over a year of fairly hard use. At least if you use acrylic enamel.

Funny that you mention Gadaffi.. he was shot by rebels.. in a country where firearms are heavily restricted. You can't buy/sell/trade/give them away, it's illegal.

That makes a lot of sense, nail polish would be much more durable on the fingernail itself if it wasn't for the fact the fingernail is actually growing, where as the metal surface is not.

The fingernail polish was also dirt cheap. I think it was $1.99 a bottle and the remover was $3 or $4. I spent about $10 overall for white, red, blue, and green and the remover. I think hobby paint is several times more expensive. And I would have had to drive to the other side of town to a Michaels or somewhere to get it. I only got 3 or 4 funny looks from teenage girls as I was crouched down at CVS comparing bright, gaudy nail polish brands! 😉

Actually we have a few drag bars in town and I was more tempted to say something like " What are you looking at honey? It looks better on me than on you!"

But then reality reared it's ugly head and I realized what an fugly tranny I would make. Besides, I don't want to get charged with terrorizing teenage girls!

hahaha.. the wife wants a gun but it's a bit hard to come across ammo to see which one she likes.

Tell the wife to stop with the guns already.This is getting to be absurd with these guns already and killings constantly.There are police to protect us and guns are not the answer !

Marv, imagine she is at home and someone is trying to break into the house. It probably takes a couple minutes at best to get through a door or window. I have never called to cops to get to my house so I don't know how long it takes for them to respond. In this scenario, I would like her to have a gun with her, locked in another room, with 911 on the phone sending officers. In the event that the person enters the home and the locked room, she has the option to defend her. If the police take 15 minutes to show up, it could be all too late. In this case, I'm supplementing her with the ability to defend herself until the police can arrive. That 5-15 minute window is critical for her safety.

Let's say I'm a criminal. I'm 6', 240lbs and go the gym daily. I have previous experience in sports and most recently a couple years of boxing. I break into grandma's house. I see 98lbs grandma holding a Louisville Slugger. I'm not afraid of that.

Kid calls 911 on his parents for abuse. Dad says to kid, "I have you for 5 minutes until the police get here."

Einstein caricatured this matter as follow:
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity."

Now, I break in and see 98lbs grandma holding a 9mm handgun, pointing it at me. You know what? I'm a bit worried now. She doesn't have to pull the trigger, I want to get out of there alive.

Marv, I'll sum it up this way.
I would rather my wife have an inanimate object, the gun, sitting in a nightstand safe not killing anyone, than to not have it and leave the possibility of her getting raped without any means to defend herself.

To each his own I say.

The entire Army just changed sides ... gave up and everyone got an AK suddenly.

It a third world vacuum everyone can have everything at once ... then nothing.

Where we live it's a minimum 30 minute response for Police or Ambulance, a lot can happen in 30 minutes!

Personally I don't really understand having to defend our right to have a gun for personal home defense.

I do not understand the mystical assumption that the Police will be able to protect you in all circumstances, I think living under that umbrella of ignorance may be fine for some, but definitely not for anyone with any type military or security background.

30 miles from where we live a home was broken into, the husband and wife were shot and killed over small amount of cash and some dated electronics, the police did not help them!

My cousins a quarter mile from us have been broken into twice, fist time stole an Xbox, the second time they stole one of their dogs, a toy boxer.

The Xbox was no big deal, the loss of the dog literally killed my cousins, it took months to learn to deal with it.

Luckily those criminals did their dirty when they we not at home!

We used to live in a time in our area that we never even locked the door, but not today!

Times have changed!

Where we live they're pushing a law through that when adopted no state citizen will have to have a permit to carry a gun on their person, as long as they are legal state residents and can own a gun in the first place.

They're deeming it was actually unconstitutional to require the permit in the first place!

Marv, You'd probably be better off avoiding South Carolina if it passes, you'd be as nervous as a long tail cat in a room of rocking chairs! :lol:

The biggest problem there is the loonies running around doing what they want because their rights are such that the place is out of control.

The govt in the US needs to crack down on your rights and get things under control.

Marv it's not like when someone owns a gun they're plotting to kill people, if a gun is bought for self protection that owner never hopes to end up killing with it.

The hardened criminal mindset is completely different they have no respect for the law or your rights, and will do anything to stay out of prison without hesitating to kill the victim, or victims, of their crimes.

Personally I think you've been extremely lucky not to have experienced what could criminally happen to you, for you to have the attitude you display, and I hope you never do experience it.

I live a short drive from the NSA's super computer used for gathering all that information. I think it was built between 2009-2011.
