On AND Off

Okay, my broadband intenet works. I have it hooked up straight from my dsl modem to my computer. I run windows XP but for some reason my intenet keeps going on and off sporadically. For example, It'll go on for 1 min then off for about 10secs then it'll go back on and then off again withing the next min. And then sometimes it will miracoulously stay on for extended periods.

I really dont know whats going on. I've checked everything on my computer that i'm knowledgeable of. ALso when the internent comes back on theres the windows xp LAN icon that flashes and says "Local Area connection now connected" or something like that.

All suggestions could really be off help. thanks

It sounds like your DSL connection is weak. Call your isp and have them check the line signal. A friend of mine had the same problem.

Does the lights actually go off on the modem or just your PC??

yes then I would definetly call your ISP and tell them your problem cause it sounds like there is a problem between the d-mark and them...
