Hi all,
I was having constant crashes in Assassin's Creed 3 and posted the problem in the Graphics and Displays section of the forum.
I have discovered that the game was actually crashing because of the audio. I use the surround sound audio ports on my motherboard and a DVI cable to my monitor from a GTX 570 graphics card.
After a lot of troubleshooting, the game no longer crashes after disconnecting the DVI cable and using an HDMI cable instead, and switching the audio in control panel to the speakers on my monitor.
I would prefer to use the surround sound instead of the little speakers on my monitor though. I was going to try and update my audio driver but the driver available on the ASUS website is an OLDER version than the one I currently have installed. I guess I could try the older version.
So does the audio coming from my GPU's HDMI port use a DIFFERENT driver than the motherboard driver?
My computer consists mainly of:
CPU: i5 2500k
GPU: GTX 570 (2x SLI)
PSU: Corsair TX750 Enthusiast Series V2
Motherboad: ASUS P8P67 Pro Rev. 3.1
