On board sensor

I have the MSI 865GVM2-LS (MS-7037) with the Winbond W83627THF sensor.

Where can I find documentation on this sensor and the other sensors
available on that mainboard, so I can configure MBM5 correctly.

you don´t need documentation, you need external calibrated meterProbe
to check temps if are shown properly within Bios ... Btw, for Cpu
onDie diode, you can not check that so easily ...

MBM5 is dead. Have you tried Speedfan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php ?

You can turn off all the smart fan-speed stuff - read the docs carefully

Depends on your board, there's no real standards for this stuff. Don't worry
about it though - you should be able to work out what's what - the highest
temp will be your CPU core, the HardDrives are named appropriately etc.
As long as nothing is going over about 60c or so, then all is well.

Yep, Temp1 sounds like the CPU, and should be the highest temp there.
Temp2 and Temp3 will be two of Motherboard, Chassis, Chipset.

What's important is what the values are, not really what they refer to. If
something is sat at 70c, then it's too hot - whether that item is CPU or
Chipset or whatever, doesn't really matter - the point is, you have a
cooling problem

If it can read the temps, then your board is supported just fine !
I'm using it with a MS-7100 (K8N Diamond SLI) and a couple of the voltages
are read wrongly (+12v for +5v etc.) but I've just turned those off. The
temp stuff and the other voltages work great.

Right, I see what you're getting at. I've set the alarm temps to be outside
of my usual boundaries (ie, they trigger at 60c), so I've not seen them go
off.

I set the BIOS alarm at 55C and the MBM5 at 50C. I rarely go over 40C
so I am not expecting any alarms either.

Unfortunately I had to unload SpeedFan because it interferes with the
Enermax 352 RAID?Backup unit. I tried to disable things but I still
got interference. MBM5 works for me and does not interfere with the
Enermax unit.

I am still looking for a spec sheet on how the sensor is mapped onto
the probes.
