Question Onboard Sound Stopped Working

I drilled a hole in the floor of my case and added a new PCIe card (USB 3.0 and eSATA). Once I booted up, I discovered that my onboard sound no longer works. I removed the PCIe card but the problem remains.

I realize I should've removed the motherboard and components before drilling a hole to avoid metal filings getting on anything. Laziness always comes with a price... I thought I cleaned them all up but could metal filings have gotten on the motherboard and caused a short which is just affecting the audio? If so, would taking everything out of the case and blowing it all off with compressed air fix the situation or this kind of a permanent type deal?

I also bumped into the audio capacitors when trying to remove the PCI slot placeholder. Could that be the cause of this issue? They all seem to be attached just fine still.

This is a Gigabyte B460M DS3H motherboard. Neither the front port or back port are working.

Thanks in advance.

It's actually my only audio output device so it's definitely the default.
Nothing in the device manager that is indicative of a problem.
