Hi, thankyou for replying. I am using the motherboard ASUS PRIME B360M-A and with a i5 9th generation processor. You have given us no context. A generic answer is 2x8gb so it can run in dual channel mode doubling the bandwidth.
Hi, there are a few RAMs that are 8 gb, but various MHz. Is the higher the MHz #, the better? You want to run 2x8gb, for dual channel. You lose performance, using a single stick.
Hi, thankyou very much for your help. What is the CL number? Is it the higher the better?Your board won't support faster than 2666, so anything faster would be a waste. You want to buy an actual 2x8gb kit. Something like this.

Hi, Thankyou very much. Which brands are typically good or better? Aside from the one you recommended.CL means cas latency, it tells you how many clock cycles it takes for a certain piece of data to be available after the memory controller requested it from the RAM
Lower CL is better. 16 is pretty much the normal CL you will see people buy. There are CL14 but they are not cheap.

I don't understand. Does that mean the RAM stick itself has to be dual channel?
Hi, Which is number is more important, the MHz or the CL #??? For similar RAMs, should I choose the one with lower CL # or higher MHz.I'm not the one who recommended anything but let me check
Hi, Thankyou replying. For ASUS PRIME B360M-A, I have one 16 gb ram stick, will that work? or do I have to buy two 8 gb ram sticks?Think of memory channels like street roads.
Single channel means there's just enough room for cars to travel in one direction or the other. There is not enough room for traffic to travel in both directions at the same time.
Dual channel means there IS enough room for traffic to flow in both directions at the same time
Now instead of cars on the road, think of data to and from your RAM modules.
