Here is my prediction:
The t-bred isnt overclocking and is gonna keep on not overclocking for a while. I still think AMD has "issues" with the die shrink. First off, the athlon core is old. You can only push a core so far. I dont care if its shrank to .13 or not, its still the same core.
Second, all chips are made exactly the same way. THey pull them off the line and test them. The ones that clock high they stamp "really fast", the slow ones get stamped with a lower clock speed. So I think the T-bred not being an overclocker shows AMD can not get quality yields.
for every person that complains about AMDs over-heating chips. I would like to go on record as saying your a moron and should kill yourself now before you infect the world with your offspring.
Here is why. The average operating temp of a non-overclocked athlon t-bird/XP is around 55c (stock HSF). People scream thats too hot! Too hot for what? Launching a space shuttle, doing your taxes? I think they mean it runs hot compared to a Intel chip. THen they claim they have to go out and spend $80 on a super HSF solution. NO YOU DONT!
The stock stuff works just fine morons. It runs hotter, deal with it! It doesnt mean anything is wrong or you need liquid nitrogen. So what if it runs hotter? Is your head gonna explode? No.. So you say you cant OC with a chip that hot. Again, SO WHAT! Nowhere in AMD's mission statement does it say "please the overclockers".
Anyway, Im sick of hearing how hot they are. please stfu.
Have a nice day
Benchmarks are like sex, everybody loves doing it, everybody thinks they are good at it.
