[SOLVED] Only the 4th dimm slot on my motherboard works

Solution
I got the board from friend who put it in a case and never used it after. He was gonna build in it but decided to get a pre built instead. Both the ram sticks are Ddr4 2666mhz and the mobo is a MSI Z490 Gaming Edge wifi

You should try to clean the other 3 RAM slot to see if dust or corrosion is causing the bad contact.

Apply a bit of alcohol on a RAM stick's copper contacts and carefully insert/remove it a couple of time on each slot.

Let it dry for a while then insert a RAM stick to test each slot.

I know that it sounds a bit low tech but it's usually how we do without a RAM cleaning kit.
What MSI motherboard do you have and how you got it (brand-new, preowned)?

Are the two memory sticks of identical specs?
