I lost the original cd and manuals from my 1901FP. By accident i did throw
away the box (with papers and cd). Anyone who has a spare set, perhaps
received a new FP in waranty, and wanna sell me his set?

Dell couldn't deliver me a new set, even tough i have a (my official)
servicetag.

regards harrie

Harrie,
Here is a link to Dell support that should allow you to download the monitor guide and drivers that you need. Then you can create a CD backup of these items if you have access to a CD/DVD burner.

The manual is available on Dell's web site.

Sell you my ability to repair and reinstall Windows legally? Sure - but it's
gonna cost you $499. You may be able to buy a retail copy of XP for less.

Thanks, i downloaded already the driver from the site.

However, i don't understand what XP has to do with it. 1901Fp is a 19inch
Flatscreen. Al other manuals and original cd's from my 8300 i still have,
only "lost" the flatscreen things.

Shows you what I know: I thought 1901FP was some model of Dell laptop.

Because I'm so embarassed, I'll let my XP CD go for only $399.

Harrie,
You can try contacting the manufacturer and see if they might have a replacement owner's manual. They may have a generic branded manual for that monitor, not Dell specific. They may charge a nominal fee. Below is listed some contact info I found on the Dell site. There is a US office for the manufacturer, so you might want to call them if you are in NA.

COLOR MONITOR (Category Name)
1901FP / DELL
(Model No / Brand Name) (Basic Model)
Manufactured at : LITEON TECHNOLOGY CORP.

Responsible Party for Product Compliance :
Lite-On Technology International Incorporated
720 S. Hillview Drive, Milpitas, California 95035
Tel) 408-935-5353

Manufacturer Information :
LITEON Technology Corp.
5F, 16, Sec. 4, Nanking E. Rd., Taipei 105, Taiwan R.O.C.

Another thing that you can do is copy and print out the manual pages from Dell, you won't have it in the same configuaration of the original manual but will have all the pages. Make sure you copy and print the linked pages. I don't remember getting a manual with my monitor that came with my Dim4600 (E773C), but was just refered to the page online through the help menu. So you might not have gotten a manual, just an idea

Thanks! I will try this.

With the 1901 there was a manual and cd. Even 2 manuals. One bigger paper in
plastic and a small book.

I also ordered a 773c. There was a cd and a A4 with "setting up your
monitor". Indeed no small book.
