Overclcoking RAM? XMP Profiles not working?

Hi, I bought 16gb 2400mhz RAM and by default it is set at 1400mhz, I want to up it to 2400mhz. I tried by changing the XMP profiles but CPU-Z tells me its still running at 1400mhz.
Any help is appreciated.

What does your bios say?

Cpu-Z under memory tab? Normal for Cpu-Z to read dram frequency as single data rate. Double data rate would be 2800MHz if you're seeing 1400MHz.

Check your bios.

Oh I didnt know that! Its 1200mhz (1400mhz is a typo, sorry) so yeah 1200x2=24000 . Thank you for replying.
