Any ideas on how to test HTT stability other than windows boot???

A common test for stability is Prime95. It puts a high load on the hardware and if it fails, then something isn't working right at that setting and you need to back down. Use Speedfan at the same time so that you can monitor temps. I don't like having the temp going much over 50c under load, though 55c can be tolerated.

I actually will first get the computer to run a stabile Prime95 for about 4 hours before thinking things are good, then, while its running, I also run 3DMark06 to both load the system harder and I watch the temp with both running. This gives me about the highest temps the computer will run into, plus points out any stability problems that might occur.
