Overclocking my Q6000 to 3.6 ghz

Hey guys I currently have my Intel Q6600 CPU at 3.2 ghz. However, I cannot get passed 3.2. I am fairy new to the overclocking aspect but I have had my CPU at 3.2ghz for awhile and there have been no problems except when I try to overclock it further. I know the Q6600 can even go up to 4ghz or air but I seem to be doing something wrong.

My CPU Bios is set to auto on everything the FSB, and Voltage and Multiplier

FSB- 400
Multiplier- 8.0
Voltage- 1.3V

Computer Specs

CPU- Intel Q6600
Memory- OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066 Ram 8gb
HDD- 640gb WD Black
GPU- Nvidia GTX 460 1gb by Gigabyte
Motherboard- ASUS P5Q
CPU Cooler- ThermalTake All Copper DuelOrb Cooler
Case- Antec 900 (1st generation)
Power Supply- Coolermaster 750W (3 years old but runs stable)
OS- Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

If anyone knows what I should be doing or what I missed to overclock my cpu further, I would gladly appreciate it. Thanks Guys and have a Happy New Year

I don't know anything about overclocking CPUs but I suggest adding some new heatsink before overclocking

I don't know about 4ghz on air with a Q6600. That was 65nm manufacutring process and to me a great overclock on those chips was 3.6/3.8. You can try to set voltage to manual and bump it up a bit. I believe 1.4v is the max on that chip so go up slow.
What revision is your chip? Earlier revisions will not go as high as the later ones. ( I forgot what is what, I think C0 and D0 but I may be wrong on that. You can use CPU-Z and google to find if you have a later chip or not.)

When you do the auto overclock thing, I'm pretty sure it also oc's the ram when you do that. The ram can only be OC'd so much expecially as it is at 1066mhz. This might be the problem? Try Oc' it manually by changing the frequency.

No at 400FSB his ram should be running 1:1 at DDR2-800. He has plenty of headroom there.
