I'm trying to run a 16GB module of G.Skill Ripjaws 3200Mhz RAM at 3200Mhz instead of the default 2133Mhz. I tried enabling XMP in the BIOS and nothing happened. Overclocking it manuall by setting the tCL to 16, tCRD to 18, tCWR to 18 (because I didn't know what to set this one to), and tRP to 18, and tRAS to 38, as well as DRAM voltage to 1.35V and the speed to 3200Mhz.

This just caused my PC to reboot during startup, so now I'm back where I started. Although the board spec sheet says that only supports 2667 Mhz RAM, there are numerous reports from individuals saying that they were able to achieve 3200 Mhz easily. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to successfully overclock this RAM?

Support for RAM speeds above 2667 Mhz is CPU dependent.

But above both are said , they are using the same Mobo n ram , so the prob is with cpu , okkkkk.... Ok wait, let them post their specs....

Yeah, I'm fairly certain it is CPU dependent but this is specific to new Ryzen architecture. I'm the person who started the thread, by the way. I have an R7 1700 clocked at 3.7 Ghz and I can only get my RAM to 2667 Mhz. I think it depends on CPU binning.

Ohhhhhhhhh ma G ..... CPU BINNING .... Again a new tech name to learn , what's that binning....

Mine - 1700 - MSI b350 red line tomahawk - RAM https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B015FY3BJ2/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yours is same as mine

Latest tomahawk beta bios 1.63 - still the problem with 3200, pc cannot start !!!
new 3050 also does not work.
2966 works as previously.
My memory is Corsair LPX3200 black - Hynix one.

what...?????? where do u get 1.63 version

link it...

Do not remember, try googling, it is on some forum. It is beta RC4, they don't publish it on the website.

Thank you lets wait for stable

It works stable but does not have improvements 😀
And it is pity...
So seems like 3200 for my memory is unreachable dream.

Keep in mind that the BIOS version 1.6 is still in beta, so use at your own risk.

Already 1.64, but I did not try it yet:

Prev. versions are on the prev. pages.
All the usage is at your own risk!

Does anyone here has G.Skill F4-3200C16-16GVKB? I am running on bios 1.5 and can't get pass to 2133. Here is what i've tried:

* A-XMP Profile 2 --> Can't boot at all and resets to 2133
* A-XMP Profile 1 --> Boots to 2933 but after few hours being turned off, reverts to 2133 when turned pc on
* A-XMP Profile 1 with NB voltage of 1.1v --> same result above
* Memory Try It 2993 (the most loose timing) with auto NB voltage --> same result above
* Memory Try It 2667 (the most loose timing) with NB voltage 1.1v --> same result above
* Memory Try It 2400 (the most loose timing) with auto NB voltage --> same result above
* Manual 2400 (17-17-17-17-37) NB voltage:1.15, DRAM voltage:1.36, LLC mode 2, NB mode 2, --> same result above
I haven't messed around on the Advance DRAM configuration.. any tips?

Hey all saw this thread and like to say it hurts with yall! currently running
Corsair CMU16GX4M2C3200C16R 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) Vengeance LED DDR4 Memory Kit - Red

Seem to get a comfortable 2933 stable with ryzen 1700 overclocked @3.8 bios version 1.6.

Would he helpful if they told us what they'd done when they release new bios version as wouldn't have even bothered from 1.5 as made no difference but had to re clock everything! New platform and all that hopefully they get it sorted soon!!

Hey same ram here. Would like to know how you got it to run @2933...all auto settings? Any edit in voltage? I can only push it to 2667 max. Latest bios and overclocked the Ryzen to 3.8 as well.

I actually managed to boot @3200 once, but it failed again ever since I altered some cpu settings in ryzen master/bios, not even when I reverted the cpu frequency back to stock.

I hope MSI can work on a new bios update to allow stable 3200mhz overclock, or I just wasted lots of money on the ram sticks.

Hi all, just now updated to bios v1.9
No progress, only 2933 is working. (Corsair LPX 3200 black - Hynix )
By the way, 2933 - C14 also working from Try It. (the same as in 1.8)
