How far do you think I'll be able to overclock this system:

What are the first steps I should take? I'm new to overclocking and any help would be appreciated.

i am thinking 3ghz...the main things that hold you back are memory and heatsink...but geil still covers golden dragons under warantee even when you pump 2.9v through them...so you should get the memory pretty high...


To overclock an intel cpu is really easy...just go into the bios and increase the fsb...if it runs...good if not you will need to punch up the cpu voltage in small incraments and/or increase the memory voltage...keep an eye on temps though...past 55c under load and i would stop...

3 386DX-25's...12 volts...glue some ln2 and a wicked amount of overclocking and you get a willamantee minus 36 pins, 33.75 million transistors and a couple hundred mhz... :cool:

That setup will get you a stable 2.8-2.9ghz. You could go higher like up to 3.2ghz but you will encounter some stability issues on a random scale.
