I am starting to build a new computer with a P5GD1 motherboard. There
is a PCI Express 16 slot for video and no video onboard. I don't have
any extra cash for a new video card for a few weeks. I was wondering
if I can get away with using an older PCI ATI Rage 2 + DVD with 8
megs. Will it work? Will there be an issue with Windows XP when I
install the new PCIx card later? Perhaps I should wait but I want to
get this computer going. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a BIOS setting listed in the manual:

"Booting Graphic Adapter Priority [PCI Express/PCI]

Allows selection of the graphics controller to use as primary boot
device. Configuration options: [PCI Express/PCI] [PCI/PCI Express]"

The implication there, is the BIOS is prepared to handle a
PCI graphics card.
