Hello, I have Gigabyte B250-D2V motherboard and ADATA XPG Flame 4GB DDR4 2400mhz CL16-16-16 RAM.

Now I want to upgrade RAM, but I am unable to find the same model with 8GB variant. so my question is if I buy 8GB 2666mhz CL17 RAM or CL16 RAM, will it work fine along with 4GB 2400mhz CL16?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Typically you don’t want to mix different ram types and speeds. Can cause more issues than not in some cases.

That being said, your mobo has a max supported speed of 2400mhz. So, yes you can get the 2666mhz but you’ll have to underclock it to 2400mhz if it doesn’t do it for you first.
