Hi..recently i try to update my windows xp from SP2 to SP3. (because i got 'fatal error RMN40' while executing Grand Theft Auto 4..i googled and many solution says 'update to SP3) but halfway through the process there'll be error. dont know why. then the setup will end. and it says "SP3 is partially installed and some feature'll be not functioning properly". seeing that, i go to system restore and restore it to the point where i dont install the SP3(of course) hoping that it'll turn back to normal(SP2). But it is still SP3 (checked through CCLeaner). Can you please tell me how to get me back my SP2??

thank you!!

theres always the option of starting afresh if the system restore didnt work.

but if your going to go to the hassle of doing that you might aswell let it update to sp3 straight away.

fyi.. everytime i install the SP3 it will have n error (halfway thru the process)..i hav tried 4 times actually..

I suggest you do a Repair Reinstallation of WinXP, if you do not know how the link provided is to a walkthrough of how to do it, you'll need your WinXP Product Key to reenter it when prompted to, when the Repair is completed all your files will be intact but WinXP will be rolled back to the installation CDs SP level, and any traces of SP3 will be gone. Good Luck!
