I networked my house to my fathers. No problems, can send files seamlessly, print to his printers ect. However I can't ping him. The most basic thing, but it just says something like "unknown host" or "request time out", ect. This wouldn't bother me but I can't use PCAnywhere 9. Just won't see him. Has me absolutly baffled... Downloaded Linkview Classic Network Analyzer and it isn't seeing any errors at all! What the ?????

Ok, sounds like your basic windows networking tasks run over NetBeui (a proprietery Microsoft network protocol), try setting PcAnywhere to use Netbeui or configure your network to run properly over TCP/IP. Try adresses like 169.254.198.*/Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0 for your machines and you can ultimately remove NetBeui.

Hope that helps!

PCAnywhere 9.0 has some serious issues working with Windows2000. If One of you is using this OS make sure you upgrade to PCA 9.2 . If thats not the case, then it sounds to me like one of you just hasnt set up PCA properly as either host or client.
