Hello.

For the past few months i've experienced a number of crashes and BSOD happening daily.
Most of the BSOD have the driver ntoskrnl.exe as the cause, which i've heard could be because of a hardware problem.
I've tried almost everything people have suggested, but nothing has helped.
Some things I've tried:
  • Clean install
  • MemTest86 (and tried another set of RAM)
  • Installing another graphics card
  • Stress tested CPU
  • sfc /scannow
  • Reinstalled graphics card drivers
If anyone have any ideas of how to solve it please let me know.

Some minidumps (I've attached a minidump from a driver verifier I just ran): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gyb6GCE4dMGL_-ytXLeVucALeFgPLO5d?usp=sharing

NTOSKRNL = windows kernel. It handles all driver requests, power management, and memory management. It sits between Hardware and Applications. It got blamed but its not the cause

its involved in everything cause it has to be. When it crashes, windows has no choice but to follow.
Its not an indication of a hardware problem just by itself. BSOD surviving clean installs can be though.

Do you have any idea what's causing the crashes? Is there something I should test?

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX
There is one BIOS update available for your system. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

vgk.sys = valorant - has been know to cause BSOD. Shame its needed for some games. Caused 2 BSOD above
amdkmdag.sys = amd gpu drivers Blamed for 2 of the above BSOD
Sep 23 2020 amdkmdag.sys AMD Graphics driver
they aren't that old. When did you swap GPU?

odd driver verifer reported no drivers when it crashed. not useful.

i don't see java very often and even rarely see it crash. Maybe GPU related. Many of them don't tell me a lot. they all look like driver errors though.

Amd themselves suggest not to use these but use Microsoft drivers
Mar 19 2015 amd_sata.sys AMD SATA Controller AHCI Device driver http://support.amd.com/
Desktop systems based on AMD 6-Series, 7-Series, 8-Series, 9-Series, Socket AM4, and Socket TR4 chipsets running Windows® 10 should use the Microsoft provided Standard SATA AHCI Controller driver that comes installed with Windows® by default. This configuration ensures compatibility and offers the best experience with most types of mass storage devices.

but in some cases its difficult to remove them. May not be cause, just saying

I swapped it on the 8th October to a "gt 630". It's an old graphics card I have laying around that don't need power via a powercable from the powersupply. I figured that if the pc crashed it couldn't be my graphics card, and not necessarily my PSU since it would use that much power.
Edit: when I go to try and roll back the AMD Sata controller, the option is greyed out and I can't click it.

The AMD GPU drivers crashed on the 21st, so if you have a gt 630 installed since the 8th, you didn't remove the AMD gpu drivers?

try running this, remove amd GPU drivers and put Nvidia on - https://forums.tomshardware.com/faq...n-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/
I only had the gt 630 in my pc on the 8th, and put my normal graphics card in later that day after the pc crashed two times with the gt 630.
Should I try to remove the AMD drivers and put the gt 630 in and see if it crashes?

2 caused by gpu drivers, 1 by valorant.

dwm.exe = windows desktop manager. Its job is to talk to GPU drivers. It runs all graphics for windows,

now the valorant bsod only solved by not using valorant. I would maybe remove it and see if the gpu errors continue. might be unrelated.

I can't tell what the 4th ones was caused by.

My pc has only crashed once since I uninstalled Valorant. The problem is that I would like to play the game, can I install it again or should I wait to see if it crashes?

thats not an error i see a lot.

can be missing system services or old drivers
for the 1st part
right click start button
choose powershell (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its completed, copy/paste this command into same window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth and press enter
SFC fixes system files, second command cleans image files, re run SFC if it failed to fix all files and restart PC

for the second

my guess would be lan drivers based on it crashing the steamwebhelper

Feb 12 2020rt640x64.sysRealtek NICDRV 8169 PCIe GBE Family Controller driver

they aren't old but there are newer here - https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

I ran SFC /scannow and it detected some errors that it fixed. Then i installed the newest LAN driver. I'll get back to you if it crashes
