Question PC Can’t Boot: BIOS Changes Boot Priority Every Shut-Down

Just finished an X79 Motherboard build, and the system refuses to keep the same boot settings after shutting down.
There is an m.2 slot with Windows installed (set to the first boot priority) -

But when the system shuts down, the first boot priority changes to: “ [ PATA SM: ] “

It is possible to go into the American Megatrends BIOS and manually change the boot priority back to the m.2 drive - but this process repeats itself every time the system shuts down.

There is no way to keep the m.2 drive as the first boot priority.

I have tried removing the CMOS battery for 30 minutes, and I also tried following the steps in this video (warning: the video quality is really terrible):

But this did not work because Fast Boot is already disabled (my settings already look similar).

Maybe this video is still helpful because this is basically what the BIOS looks like.

--------
Why is this happening?
How can this be fixed so that the boot priority can be the same (m.2 drive) every time?

Try replacing the CMOS battery with a fresh cell. I'd also check and see if your motherboard is pending any BIOS updates.

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Just an FYI, we communicate in English on our forums. I didn't understand what was said in your video.
