Hello,

Ever since I upgraded some parts for my pc a couple years ago, I've been having crashes almost daily. When it happens it goes like this:

I'll play some games or maybe watch youtube, then all of a suddenly the pc just freezes, the audio buzzes and sparks and goes crazy. I cannot do anything on the pc, my keyboard and mouse is frozen, I can't alt+F4, I'cant tab out, literally nothing. What I can do is either hold down the reset button on my case or wait until the pc reboots itself.

I have done:
  • Heaven
  • Cinebench
  • Prime95
  • Memtest
  • Furmark
  • CrystalDiskMark
There has never been a crash while doing these tests, which I find a bit weird.

I have also done this:

  • Reapplied thermal paste and reseated the cpu cooler (stock intel)
  • Bought new RM850x Corsair Psu and Corsair 3200mhz 16gb Ram.
  • Regularly cleaning pc
  • Bought a new sata ssd, (this seems like it fixed the problem of my pc freezing completely and shutting down. Now my pc just froze a bit and crashed the game. But its still to early to say as this happens randomly.)
  • Completely new windows install after ssd purchase

Temps while playing Kingdom Come:

Cpu: 60-65C

Gpu: 65-70C

The temps under no load is usually 40C for Cpu and 45-60 for Gpu

I have logs from Event Viewer but I don't know how to upload the logs, if anyone can help with that, that would be very much appreciated.
I have Watchdog logs? But no minidump. But in my Reliability history this is one of the problems i faced today:

  • PSU - Corsair RM850x Gold

I would appreciate any help as I have had this problem for about 2 years now and Im starting to get really tired of it. Thanks :)

I have had it for around 2-3 years, but I bought it used from another guy, and unfortunately I don’t know how long he had it.
What settings did you run Unigine with (was it all at the highest resolution?)I think you have a problem with your graphics card or motherboard, I don't see anything else besides the hard drive which you don't mention which one it is
The card in relation to games that makes you freeze and crash, unless it does the same outside of games

Ahh I see,

This was the setting i ran using unigine:

API: DirectX11
Quality: Ultra
Tessellation: Extreme
Stereo 3D: Disabled
Multi Monitor: Disabled
Anit-aliasing: 8X
Fullscreen
1920X1080 Resolution

I forgot to mention that I probably had an undervolt on when i did the unigine test, this was my setting:

1950mhz / .0975volt

Should I maybe try again without undervolting the gpu?

When I bought my pc I had a big hdd, and then I bought a secondhand sata ssd, which only had 67% life remaining according to crystaldiskmark. These problems started before I bought my 1tb nvme and my newest 120gb sata ssd, so I don’t think its either my new sata ssd or my nvme.

The old sata ssd which had 67% life remaining is the one I had windows installed on.

And now I have removed the old sata ssd, but my pc still froze, the log from reliability viewer is after i had installed my new ssd.

The freezing happens randomly, i can watch youtube or just have my wallpaper up and it can freeze. But most of the times is when I play games.

Im sorry if this is hard to understand, english is not my first language.

I actually ran unigine again now for 15 mins without undervolt, and the pc froze and then crashed/rebooted. Unfortunately I don't think any dump file was created. I logged it using HWinfo and this was the temperature:

52.6C Minimum

73.87C Mean

92C Maximum

This is the only thing I can see in reliability viewer: The previous system shutdown at 1:42:02 AM on ‎1/‎1/‎2025 was unexpected. Event 6008.

Its probably my gpu that is going bad or?

Happy new year to all
Freezes and crashes with reboots are usually caused by the cpu and psu [you need to clean it well, look at the socket and test, but also check all the updates if you have to do those too]I just asked about the card because many of them are problematic regardless of whether they don't raise temperatures and as you said, you got it used [if you can, find a card from a friend to test if that's where the problem is]
Check all updates first cpu , gpu , chipset .....all

Yes, happy new year indeed.
Ah man crashes and reboots or freezes just are not right to get, when all one likes to do is play some games on a pc.

No one can know from here the problem someone is facing when you can't have the computer in front of you, we assume what could be wrong, the user must know what he has done wrong and what not.
In this specific case, event 6008, as far as I know, is solved with updates

I read you, even thou even thou, sometimes even if the pc is in front of you, you have all the spare parts to test and fitness to execute all the tasks.

Happy new year to you all aswell.
Allright I will update everything and clean it again. I'll also try my pc with my brothers old gpu.

I also downloaded "WhoCrashed and found some dump files, this is what they are saying:

I don't understand exactly what this means but it looks like my drivers/ overheating or my gpu is just going bad right? But it gives different analysis so I don't know.

yes you've overheating gpu.
Try

Roll Back Display Driver

Roll back driver

Hello, an update. My Pc froze and crashed today again, unfortunately no dump files were made as far as I can see. But the last temps and info I could see using rivatuner was this:

GPU: 60C, 46% Usage, 1950MHz, 103.3W, 1.043V
CPU: 43C, 12% Usage, 4000MHz, 17.8W

So I don't think it's overheating? I checked on reddit and some people said to use DDU, so I did that and completely removed graphics drivers and then installed new. Should I roll back the driver again?

And now every time I start up my pc I get this error:

1aw3YPv.png
[/IMG]

I also have countless errors in event viewer, something about shadow copy storage creation failed and that my C drive became corrupted.

Well just as I was typing this my pc bsod with the code:

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

and after It booted up again I got this bsod code

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH

And now whenever I boot up my pc it freezed directly and crashes, I think it might be something with my Razer program? Because I went into reliability history and I had like 30 errors with Razer programs.

So yeah now Im unable to even use the pc, and I have no Idea what to do..

I will try to see if any dump files were made after these bsod, but Im not certain I’ll even be able to make it because It’ll most likely freeze and crash again.

Yeah no It just crashes instantly, I downloaded it but the pc crashed before I could use it. I can’t open malwarebytes, I can’t open my file folder. And after a while the pc just crashes. It seems like the pc is completely bricked

Do you think I can salvage anything? The psu should be okay and maybe the ram? The rest I can just throw away or? I’ll just build a new pc. Im so unbelievably tired of this shit box. I can’t see how one would start to even fix this. Maybe reinstalling windows again?

push and hold shift and restart to safe mode
Don't you have another card (even a smaller one) to put in and take out the 1070?
If you want, do a clean install without putting any other disks in the system besides the main disk and mouse, keyboard, nothing else and see from the beginning without playing any games what it does.

Yeah I have tried entering safe mode, but it just says ”repairing C drive” or something like that, then it just becomes black screen with the windows loading animation. Then nothing happens.

Yeah I have my brothers gpu so I’ll try switching to that. After I have switched should I try again using the shift & restart method, to enter safe mode?

If I succeed what should I do in safe mode?
