PC crashes while connected to TV and playing games

I have a triple monitor setup connected to a GTX 970. I recently got an HDMI switch that both my middle monitor and my LED TV are connected to. The idea was to be able to quickly switch my main monitor to my TV when I wanted to play games.

Anyways, for the last week or so I've been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition this way. However, every time I do it freezes. All my screens stop responding and the only way I can fix it is to restart the computer. This usually happens after 10 to 40 minutes of gameplay. The freeze seems to happen independent of how long I've been playing or what I'm doing at the time.

Now here's the kicker: when I run the game on one of my regular monitors I have zero problems. The TV has the exact same resolution as all my other monitors, which from my understanding means it should be treated exactly the same by my graphics card. The only thing that's different is that in the case of the TV I'm using the HDMI for audio as well. Could that be enough to crash my PC? Or is there some other quirk I'm not aware off? I just built the thing over the summer and did plenty of stress testing. Drivers are up to date as well. There's been the odd Windows 10 hiccup, but otherwise I haven't experienced any issues until this point.

Hardware:

Asus GeForce GTX 970
Intel i7-5820k 6-core
MSI X99S Motherboard
Corsair 16GB(8x2) DDR4 2400 RAM
EVGA 850W Power Supply

+ Windows 10

Solution
If you have Turbo boost on in the BIOS i'd say turn it off. My games used to crash and freeze like crazy when turbo boost was enabled. Turned it off and everything was gravy (good). Try it and let me know whats up.

That worked nicely. Played for almost two hours and everything was gravy. Thanks!
