My PC is constantly crashing when I play games. My monitor will turn off, but I can still talk and be heard in discord. Eventually, my PC will just restart or I will have to hard reset. My build specs are as follows (I got the PC using CyberpowerPC to custom build it then had them assemble):

CAS: CyberPowerPC ELUNA 242V Premium RGB Gaming Case Mid-Tower w/ Tempered Glass Window Panel + 3x ARGB Fans

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X 3.8GHz [4.7GHz Turbo] 8 Cores/ 16 Threads 36MB Total Cache 105W Processor

CS_FAN: 3X 120mm Phanteks SK120 PWM FAN - high airflow nine-blade 500-1500 RPM Radiator Fans Black

FAN: AMD Ryzen Premium Wraith CPU Cooler for Socket AM4 [-12]

HDD: 1TB WD Blue SN550 Series PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD - Seq r/W: Up to 2400/1950 MB/s, Rnd r/W up to 410/405k (Single Drive)

IUSB: Built-in USB Ports (Based on motherboard and case selection)

MEMORY: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/3000MHz Dual Channel Memory (Crucial Ballistix Sport)

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME X570-P ATX w/ RGB, Realtek LAN, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 6 SATA3, 2 M.2 SATA/PCIe

NETWORK: Onboard Gigabit LAN Network

OS: Windows 10 Home (64-bit Edition)

OVERCLOCK: No Overclocking

POWERSUPPLY: 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Gold Certified Power Supply

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070

Using Windows reliability monitor I can see that it is a hardware error. The problem details are as follow:

Description

A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.

Problem signature

Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent

Code: 144

Parameter 1: 3003

Parameter 2: ffffba0a8bf5a670

Parameter 3: 40010000

Parameter 4: 0

OS version: 10_0_19044

Service Pack: 0_0

Product: 768_1

OS Version: 10.0.19044.2.0.0.768.101

Locale ID: 1033

Other than a code 144 I have also had code 141, 117, 124. Other than the hardware errors I have had a "Windows Stopped Working" the details for this are...

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000133 (0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000001e00, 0xfffff80252cfb320, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 3f013354-d0f3-41d5-b2e1-d8749fe47ec0."

I have been trying to address the hardware error by talking to Nvidia support who had me download Nvidia power cleaner and run that and reinstall Nvidia from the website. Neither of these worked then I was told to download a GPU stress test which crashed my computer again. Support then told me to contact MSI or my CyberpowerPC for a replacement graphics card. Before I start doing that I just wanted to get a second opinion on what the problem could be. Thank for reading all this I know it is long but I wanted to give all the information possible.

EDIT:
I have also already done a fresh start by reinstalling Windows.

  1. overheating?
  2. are you using a riser cable? if so try without
  3. try to reinstall the card (physically)
  1. I haven't found a software that would give me a CPU and GPU temperature overlay when I am in game. If I did I could rule out overheating or confirm it, any suggestions?
  2. Unsure, this PC is a custom pre-build from CyberpowerPC. How could I tell if I am using one? Side note PC is just over 1 year old this is the first issue I've had, and part warranty just ran out.
  3. I've considered this, but due to my lack of knowledge, I feel like I could just make things worse.

  1. I'd recommend msi afterburner with RTSS (Rivia Tuner Statistic Server).
  2. Is your card standing upright with the fans towards you? If so it's using a riser cable. If it's installed into the motherboard slot directly then not.
  3. In that case I'd recommend asking for assistance from a relative or friend who can do it. If you still want to try yourself let me know and I'll send you a step by step to do guide.

Run HWiNFO64 in the background (sensors only, logging on) while you game.
Once it CTDs review the log file to look for clues or upload the file somewhere we can get it.
