Recently ive had both my laptop and my desktop PC break, the desktop's issue was the motherboard and the laptop's was the hard drive, so i was wondering if i could connect my desktop's hard drive to my laptop, i should add that the laptop has some sort of small cable connected to where the hard drive goes as it doesnt have the usual connectors, im sorry if its hard to explain without actually knowing what they are called, but thig is, after i opened my laptop to get its hard drive out to change (it was new, so it must still be under warranty) i noticed i could connect the desktops hard drive there using that cable, but it still doesnt detect it, as if it wasnt even connected, i was wondering if its just impossible to do that, and also, my laptop has an ESata port on the side, i wanted to know if an ESata to Sata cable would work, as i dont have the money to actually buy anything other than that cable (as docking stations and adapters are REALLY expensive here to be usefull as an emergency measure)
