I have the following system that I pulled out of my closet and turned on after almost 3 years. I used it for one night just fine and the next day the system kept rebooting, nothing would pop up on the screen. I thought maybe the PSU was failing so I plugged in another PSU and finally got the MOBO screen to come up and go into bios. But now on the mobo screen when the windows spinning dots come up the system just freezes and I can't do anything forcing me to power off. I've gotten as far as the following 2 BSOD errors:
1. System Thread Exception Not Handled
2. Page Fault In Nonpaged Area
I've reseated the ram and also replaced the CMOS battery. I thought maybe because the system kept freezing on the Mobo page and that first BSOD error my liquid cooler was messed up causing the CPU to overheat. I took the liquid cooling block off and put on a stock intel cooler I had lying around with fresh thermal paste. But still getting the same issue. I thought maybe my SSD was corrupted but I plugged it into another PC I have and it boots up just fine to Windows. I've also unplugged my PCIe devices to mitigate any other problems it may have.
Could it be a motherboard failure? I also think my existing PSU was a problem as well cause the new PSU I put in from another computer is at least booting it up.
The only thing on the MOBO right now is case fans/periphs, CPU, and SSD. The Bios is reading everything (RAM, CPU, etc). Not sure what else I can do. Looking here for guidance and thanks in advance!
Specs:
CPU: i5-6600k Skylake
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Founders Edition
Ram: DDR4 16GB RAM (2x 8GB)
MOBO: MSI Z170A Krait Gaming 3x RTL
Liquid Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 liquid cooling
SSD: Kingston 120GB SSD SATA 3
Existing PSU: EVGA 650W SuperNova G2
Test PSU: EVGA 650W SuperNova GS
I have noticed even with the Test PSU sometimes the computer will randomly reboot.
