Hello guys,

So I'm facing an issue with my PC , let me give you some context first.

My pc was working just fine , no complains at all , then I went on a 2 weeks vacation and when I came back and entered cs2 , my PC started lagging from time to time.
It feels like it happens most of the times when I move my mouse through certain areas??? (not sure tho...)

PC specs:
- 3060 RTX OC 12gb
- i5 13600k
- 32 gb ram 5600Mhz
- SSD

Is there any way to find out if there is a hardware issue or my internet is doing me dirty?
Is there any way to test my components for damage (other than visually)?
Is there any way to test my internet speed (other than a speed test) ?

Things I have done so far :
- Windows reinstall.
- Changed CPU paste and cleaned PC all around.

Thank you!

check if it happens while gaming offline as well

restart internet router
update its firmware

Be sure all drivers are up to date in your system
GPU, ethernet, chipset, intel me driver,
BIOS as well
RAM is set correctly to advertised speed?

run memtest
run SSD test with manufacturer´s tool, eventually update firmware if available
update BIOS

You should first run some test programs like OCCT first to check for stability. Next benchmark programs like CineBench (for CPU performance) and for instance Heaven Benchmark, Furmark etc. (for GPU performance) or full/general system benchmarks like Passmark Performance or Geek Bench test to compare with similar systems. Smart thing to do when you get a new PC and/or set it to run those benchmarks and save results to be able to compare if something is changed or gone wrong.
Also check BIOS to see if it wasn't returned to safe defaults and lost enhancements which can happen if PC is not under power for some time and CMOS battery lost power.

Thank you so much for the suggestions , I did a hard reset on the router and also updated to last firmware.
I also updated the bios to the current one , strange thing I remember perfectly I updatede the bios in 2024 and yet I had a 2022 version on it.

Let's see how is gonna do now , I will come back with an update.

I think you are right , I checked bios version and it was a version of 2022 , even tho I know for sure I updated it in 2024. Also all the bios settings including memory speed was default to 3200 I think.
I updated it and also change the RAM frequency , but I do have a question about the RAM freq if u don't mind...I had 3 options to choose from :
- G2 5600Mhz (1.33x100.00)
- G2 5600Mhz (1.00x100.00)
- G4 5600Mhz (1.00x100.00)

Which one is the best one? From what I have read around it says G2 is the best one and also (1.00x100.00) cause the 1.33 one can interfere with other ocs?
Oh and is there any other changes I should make in bios for better performance?

Thanks again

Update : played a game of Cs2 and is still happening 🙁
Is there any way to test my internet in a way to show me more data , to be 100% sure the internet is not an issue?

I have something similar happening so i won't be opening a new thread on it and ask for advice here. In my case it doesn't happen while i play games but it happens when i alt tab, especially if i tab into discord. A small hickup now and then when i alt tab from a game to something in the other screen is normal but if i alt tab into discord it can last several seconds. Other than that everything seems to be working right. Could it be the latest discord update?

ok , now I'm 100% sure is not the internet , as today I even got my mouse on the desktop lagging

EDIT 1: ok , now I'm lagging like crazy even on desktop , I can't even click on things on desktop because of how bad it is...
But i'm pulling performance tab and everything looks stable , nothing is going crazy...
I run benchmarks everything ok , I used this OCCT for all my components and coldn't find any errors

what the hell could it be at this point?

Ok I think I found out the issue , like mentioned before , I could barely click on things cause of how laggy it was , but I realized I could navigate perfectly on my pc with my keyboard even tho the mouse was laggy af...
So it was the mouse ...
Mouse usb was close to PC antenna wireless so not sure if it was harming the frequency of the mouse , or mouse is gonna die soon , or it was an usb issue , but the mouse was my issue it seems , it was laggy af (wireless mouse)
I switched it now in another usb further away from antenna as well and seems to be working fine now xDDD

It's so weird , wouldn't thought in a million years to be the mouse as it was just laggy ...didn't stop or anything...

That can happen.
I had buzzing in my speakers, had all the wires neatly grouped together coming out the back of the PC, separated the wires and no more buzzing.
