Question PC looses Video signal if GPU is placed under load

Hi Everyone
So I'm kinda at my wits end.
My PC looses video signal ( the display goes black, sometimes the screen just goes black once, other times it does it a few times in quick succession before completely going black, with the only resoution being to restart my pc) if i try to put any sort of load on the GPU, what ever was open that caused strain on my gpu also closes
does been happening with any game I play as well as when trying to test via Kombustor.

I have tried re-downloading my drivers and it hasn't resolved the problem,
I have also tried removing my GPU and just running my display from my CPU's display which seems to work.

is there anyway to determine what piece of hardware is going?

Sounds like a power supply problem. List all your specs as noted above.

The problem is on Both Windows 10 and 11
CPU i7 8700
GPU GTX 1080 (MSI Armor)
RAM: 2 x16 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz
PSU: ANTEC EAG PRO 750W

I'd replace that PSU with a name brand unit at least 650watts. A Corsair RM650x is great for the price.

It's not maybe the gpu I see it's ram shows equivalent to 4gb?

Good catch. Try using DDU in safemode to remove old drivers. Install latest version after.

That PSU is based from the Seasonic Focus. Seasonic made a lot of Antec power supplies.

Sounds like a cold solder connection on the video card's PCB. When under load, the temperature increases which causes the solder to expand and come apart. When it cools, it contracts and the circuit starts working again.

If you have professional experience with electrical work, then sure, maybe you can. The problem is that finding it could be extremely hard. You might need a watchmaker's loupe to have any hope and those are not cheap. However, the tech department of your local computer store should have the tools needed to find and repair something like that.
