Question Pc not turning on after trying to install an HDD

Hi

I was working on my pc when I thought I should try to install my old hard drive that we weren't using anymore. So I shut down my pc and started installing it. Once I had installed it I pressed the power button and for a second it sounded like the fans were spinning up and then it stopped and now it won't turn on again. I've checked every single cable to make sure it didn't come disconnected . I even tried turning it on with my screw driver to make sure it wasn't the switch. The power from the wall is also good.

Would It be possible that a faulty hard drive could do this?

take the hdd out and test again

I've taken out both my hdd and the hard drive and tried them by themselves and it doesn't turn on at all

Sounds like there was a short (either caused by HDD or one of the cables). It could have damaged either PSU or motherboard (or both).
