Question Pc restarts randomly.

Hi, lately I've been having the problem that my pc restarts randomly. It could happen anytime: when I'm gaming, watching a video, programming or just on discord. Sometimes it takes 30 mins to just shut down and restart and sometimes it takes even 5 hours and then it restarts. I have this pc for 3 months and this problem started 3 weeks ago. Can someone help?

Asus Rog Strix z-390- E
motherboard I7-8700k (not overclocked)
Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2070
G-skill Trident Z 2x8 Gb 3200mhz
Samsung QVO 1TB
NZXT kraken x62

My canned random reboot Rant
Random reboots are usually caused by the PSU, the RAM or software AND in that order of likely-hood.
PSU - If you can borrow/swap a PSU for testing. sibling/friend you can swap out the PSU and each system will be testing the other.
RAM - run the system with one stick of RAM see if stability returns if not Test all the RAM with memtest 86 for five passes or overnight. if you get no 0 errors after more than five passes the ram is good. with the random reboots I would suggest running this test after the PSU swap or after the PSU has been cleared.
Software - Drivers or other issues can cause reboots. Boot to a linux distro on a USB drive. mint linux will boot to memtest86. you can run the OS from the USB and await reboot.

As for the software option, you could also try to reboot Windows in Safe mode to see if it occurs.

sometimes true. if windows is the software at fault even safe mode may not boot. works for drivers and startup programs though.

Yeah, but it is worth trying seeming as it is possible that a bad driver or whatnot can cause system-wide crashes. This was especially notorious in Windows Vista, and often crashing results in restarts.
