So I have got my PC for a year now and not too long ago, it stopped recognizing half of my ram.
I don't remember doing anything stupid, it just sort of happened.
I guess that there is nothing wrong with windows, since ubuntu doesn't recognize more RAM either.

I have also tried updating BIOS.

Try re-seating the ram modules. If that doesn't work test each module of ram(boot with only 1 module of ram) until you identify the faulty module.

So I have tested all modules of RAM by booting with only one of them at the time and it seems that all of them work fine. But when I install all of them, only one channel is recognized

Well, it would help to know your hardware as we've asked - but if a channel isn't being seen, first try loosening the CPU cooler then snug it down, not overly tight, many overtighten a corner or side which can affect the Memory controller - if that doesn't help would check the CPU and socket for bent/broken pins, debris, thermal compound that might have seeped in

RAM: 4 times 4GB
Motherboard: Asrock Pro4-m
OS: Windows 8.1 - 64bit

The heatsing was tighntened up pretty hard, but loosening it did't solve the problem. I can't see anything wrong with the motherboard. But I do remember putting the heatsink (Noctua NH-14) in it the wrong way, which made a contact between a heatsing and a GPU and prevented PC from booting up. After that the old PSU started doing noises and vibrating, which died in the end. I replaced it with Corsair RM800.

It was fine, until my PC stopped recoginzing half of ram and the video ports stopped working (which I forgot to mention earlier)

RAM: 4 times 4GB (no labels)

That will be the problem then. Undoubtedly the motherboard has been damaged from either the heat-sink and GPU touching or from the motherboard warping from the cooler being put in the wrong way,

Either way the motherboard needs to be replaced.

Thank you. I will be replacing the motherboard then. It was very foolish of me buying a big headsink for a microATX motherboard in the first place
