My PC has been running completely fine for the last year until it tripped a circuit breaker tonight and now I think I bricked it.

I have been playing the Spiderman game all week without any issues until I started to smell a burning smell tonight. Less than a minute later the circuit breaker tripped and knocked out power to everything on the circuit. The heat was somewhere between my PSU on the botttom of my case and the GPU right above it.

After unplugging everything I opened the case and didn't see any melted or warped components. After waiting about 30 minutes I plugged everything back in, then switched on the PSU. the socket on the PSU sparked and now I'm pretty sure at least my power supply is fried, if not more components.

So far my troubleshooting guesses are:
1. Faulty PSU (prebuilt PC so maybe they skimped here, wattage might cut it close to the power draw)
2. Defective GPU
3. Old circuit breaker needs to be replaced (circuit breaker tripped once last year when I turned on my AC unit while my computer was running)

My PC has been running completely fine for the last year so what might have caused this problem? Besides replacing my PSU what else can I do to troubleshoot the problem?

Is all that's mentioned about the PSU. You might want to take the side panels off and see what the label on the PSU says...or shows and pass on an image of what you're seeing on the PSU's stickered sides.

Bad wiring in your abode can also attribute to a system's failure, besides ruining the PSU.
