mother: Asrock H110m-HDS
CPU: I5 6400
RAM: 16gb ddr4 2133mhz
Gpu: Asus 1050 2gb

The thing is, every now and then his pc won't turn on, so far what we've tried is to check gpu drivers and BIOS version (everything seems to be up to date), he cleaned his pc (even RAM and GPU socket and connectors)... so far it seems to be working, but is there anything else that comes into your mind that may be happening? something that we might have missed?

How about a loose or defective monitor cable?

Try testing by connecting the monitor directly to the motherboard if you can.
