Hello there,
I just assembled my first PC and it boots but then turns off after a bit. The first time I booted it, I got it into the USB Windows boot and formatted the Recovery partition while trying to install, it worked but then it turned off randomly. I’m not sure if this is happening because I did that.
Now it won’t let me into bios or select another boot disk, because it freezes and turns off.
I was able to get into BIOS once but the CPU temp was reaching 100C and I couldn’t understand why so I quickly turned it off.
The SSD is from another older PC and it boots to that somehow but turns off after a bit and the motherboard shows VGA and DRAM and sometimes red BOOT LEDs, which then disappear. I tried switching the RAM sticks and I tried to remove the SSD, but if I do it lets me choose the boot disk and then it turns off. The buttons on the motherboard have lights that stay on even after the PC turns off so this makes me think it’s not a PSU problem. The screen on the cooler shows about 40 to 70 degrees C.
Edit: I’m starting to understand a bit what’s happening. I tried turning it on after hours so it was all cool, and it works, I got into bios. The problem is that the CPU quickly rises to 100 degrees, in barely a minute, in just the bios. I tried reseating the cooler and reapply thermal paste but nothing changed. I’m starting to question if the pump is actually working, because even at max speed I can’t feel any water flowing in the tubes and the radiator is cold.
