PC will not boot after installing new bios, and RAM speed change

I tried to install new bios on my motherboard Gigabyte GA 970A UD3...after the installation was finished, i restarted the pc and entered bios again, then i changed my RAM speed from 1033, to 1333, restarted the PC again, and now its locked on boot screen. Then i tried to reset the bios by removing the CMOS battery. After that its still locked on boot scree, but now i cant even use my USB keyboard, even tho i tried to use it with PS2 adapter....i think i should mention also that sometimes when i restart it, even the monitor doesnt get any signal from GPU. Thing is battery fell from my hand one time and landed on table...idk if that can be the problem? could the CMOS battery be damaged? I order new one, and also i ordered PS2 keyboard to try to get into bios....

Any positive words, or help would be much appreciated!

G0 into BIOS and set optimized defaults then set up memory speed & timings plus anything else that might need to be set up. After updating bios or resetting you will need to set it all up again correctly.

i was not able to get into BIOS because i have USB keyboard. my question also is if the ps2 one and new CMOS battery will change that? also ive noticed that my ram might be running on 1033mhz after i changed it to 1333 these things started to hapen. i have g.skill ripjaws at 1600mhz so i dont see any reason why would they run at that 1033mhz? any suggestions?

You should be able to get into bios by tapping the delete key during boot. You are gonna need to get into bios now since you flashed and even reset bios.

If the initial boot screen leading to post doesn't detect the USB keyboard for use to get into the bios then you might need to pick up a ps/2 keyboard. Also make sure that your cpu is able to support the higher memory frequency otherwise you might run into conflicts.

@spooky2th As I mentioned earlier my USB keybord does not work on the boot menu.

Thank you Edward, iam waiting for the ps/2 keyboard to arrive and see how it goes with that one. Also i should mentioned it earlier i have fx 6300, so i guess it should support 1600mhz ram? So once i get into bios should i just set it to default? or what should i actually do when i get into bios? thank you

Plug your keyboard into a USB 2.0 port, not a 3.0. I have built several comps with that board and USB keyboards do work. You may have damaged the bios or not have it set up right. The USB legacy option should be enabled.

EDIT:
In bios set optimized defaults then check that the memory speed, timings and voltage are set correct. If they aren't you will have to manually set them.

EDIT2:
Enabling XMP Profile1 should set up the memory kit to the exact specs of speed, timings and voltage. But check to be sure, anyways.

thank you for the information spooky, but the problem is that the keyboard does not work regardless what port its conected to. I tried both 3.0 and 2.0, and i also tried with usb to ps/2 adapter, it doesnt seem to work also. I have a feeling that my CMOS battery might be damaged. I will see once the ps2 keyboard and new CMOS battery arrive. Also where can i get information about timings on RAM and in what option do i set them exactly? and what is XMP profile 1? sorry iam not familiar with these things. Some clarification would be well appreciated.

While you are waiting for the keyboard and etc, it would be a good idea for you to get your MB manual and go over the bios some. If you don't have the manual, it can be downloaded at the MB web site.

The memory speed, timings and voltage is usually on the package, on an insert in the package or can be looked up at the memory web site. Normal timings might be something like 9-9-9-24 for 1600MHz memory. Check your memory specs and these plus the voltage should be set right in bios.

What version is your MB? I think there are three versions for that model MB. The newest revision has the new UEFI bios which makes it easier to just enable XMP, Profile1 to set up memory that is XMP ready.

Hey. I got it up and running now! The mobo was GA 970A UD3 ver 1.2
What i did was i just unpluged one of the RAM sticks, and it booted up with no problem. Ran thru bios everything seemed fine, set everything to default, edited the timings and MHz of RAM, turned off PC, put RAM back in and everything worked fine. Thank you for your time also! Some pointers were much appreciated!
