Recently my PC suddenly shut off while idling and was not starting. I tried removing and reinstalling all components and found that with GPU inserted the PC wont start at all with only motherboard lights lit. I removed my GPU and PC booted properly on igpu. So is this a problem with my PSU with pcie connectors being damaged or is the gpu damaged?

Config:
CPU - i5 4670k
GPU - MSI GTX 970
Motherboard - Asus Maximus VI Gene
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
PSU - Corsair TX 650 v2

Solution
May be a lack of power, but the corsair range of power supply should be able to give out enough voltage and amps to drive the 970 card. unless the psu has developed a fault quiet possible.

I guess the only way to test it is with another power supply.
If it still does not work with the 970 card fitted in the slot.

You should test it in another system and it`s pci-e slot to confirm if it is the card then Rma it if still under warranty. A sure fire way of testing to see if the Psu is at fault or the card.

Time to ask a good friend for a lend of another Psu, and if you can put your card in there system and Pci-e slot of the motherboard.
