PC WONT BOOT

[Note: Moderator edit to break up one long continuous paragraph.]

So it’s a long story but i wanted to upgrade cpu and motherboard since it was the worse parts in my pc and it was starting to really struggle with gaming and it was built in 2016 but since has had new ram and gpu and another SSD added.

I got a good micro center deal for a Ryzen 7 7800x3d with a rog strix B650-A gaming motherboard and “free” DDR5 ram cause of the bundle, so i installed everything myself as i built my original pc and have general knowledge and when i first booted up it wouldn’t because i had the panel wires in all wrong

but after i got that it would boot me into bios with a SSD failure imminent please backup and replace. I will admit i may have ignored this for a night or two and just bypassed it, but after two nights of running just fine it crashed on me and i believed it was the ssd

and i have been wanting to do a fresh start on my pc for awhile. So i just unplugged the original ssd and installed windows on it through a usb, i had a few problems with getting windows onto a previously used ssd (had to wipe and convert to a partition to GPT for windows)

but after everything i was back into my computer. After downloading drivers and all the windows updates and having to restart many times i started to finally start to download game launchers and games again and it randomly crashed on me again, not blue screen but just shuts down on my monitors and disconnects all my devices but lights stay on and eventually i had to force it to power down.

It restarted a few times just like nothing happened and i resumed my downloads and was checking my windows updates and making sure all drivers were there but it would crash like every 30 mins or so and eventually i fell asleep (at 4am) and now it won’t boot at all with red cpu light lit on the motherboard.

I don’t think anything i wrong with the motherboard or cpu as they have been running many times with load just fine and temps around 35-40 C. I’ve spent the last week now getting little sleep reading reddit thread after reddit thread helping me with all my other issues as i’m not this inclined when it comes to computers but i have decent knowledge and a couple buddies who do to that have gotten me this far.

As of right now it won’t boot and i’m thinking of doing a bios flashback in the motherboard to see if i can get into bios atleast. Any help is much apperciated im losing my mind 😭

i would start from the start again ..

pull the PC apart and put it back together cooler off , cpu out ( check for damage ) gpu out pull all ssd's out and buy a new 250gb one ( small yes but cheap ) go a samsung 980 pro they shouldnt be costly then check and make sure EVERTHING is in the right place cable wise ..

Bios flashback could help

make the windows 10 /11 usb install if you can somewhere

Then try again

To me it sounds like the ssd is the issue but thats just me pointing at something !!

Its fustrating when PC building and these things happen just need to stay calm and eliminate the problems it could be one by one !

I just spent $800 i shouldn’t really spent on upgrading to these parts, and had the original ssd fail. Are you saying i shouldn’t even use my 2nd ssd anymore either?

I would use 1 blank brand new ssd while trouble shooting !!

if its one brand new ssd in the mobo then if it works you have found your issue!!

no point sticking 2 used ssds in there then trying to trouble shoot !

Do over.

The starting point is to obtain the motherboard's User Guide/Manual directly from the manufacturer's website.

And also the applicable documents for all installed components.

This motherboard?

B650-A

[Verify that I identified the correct User Manual.]

Read all documents very carefully and pay close attention to all fine print, warnings, notes, and references to online manufacturer resources including FAQs and Forums.

Plan/replan the build as if were a completely new build. Step by step. Methodically and carefully.

Do not bypass or other ignore some concern or problem. Fix/resolve before proceeding.

Doublecheck that all components are supported and can be properly configured.

Follow the Windows Reinstall procedure exactly as is provided in multiple threads and posts within this Forum.

https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/windows-11-clean-install-tutorial.3831442/

Which centers around having only one drive installed to host the OS.

Get the system up and running and stable.

Then allow time for Windows to get itself all updated as necessary.

Install other apps etc. slowly allowing time between installs to ensure that all continues to work.

^^this exactly ..

I just rebuilt my main PC 7800x3d 7900xtx after done when i pressed the power button it would squeak and turn everything off time and time again same thing ..

( most of the components were the same the only thing changed was the case and cpu cooler from a arctic freezer ii 360 to a arctic freezer iii 420 that i could think of )

After about 20minutes of thinking what was different !!

I found my issue it was ONE cable that i had used different My Asus rog crosshair x670e gene board has 2 cpu power plugs at the top !!

I had thought to use one different cable to help because using the freezer iii 420 in the case was tight and it was the cause of my issue put the same one id previously used ran the cable differently and bang issue gone !!

Point is sometimes you need to start from the beginning ..

with out cause for alarm!!

The asus strix boards were on older bios versions burning 7000 cpus ( why i said check the cpu for damage )

if thats all good then 1 issue eliminated !!

check all cables and connections !!

Pull the ram out and reseat !

highly doubt the GPU has anything to do with it but pull it wipe the fingers and put it back in !!

pull the ssd format it or replace with a decent smaller new ssd but use just one ssd for the time being !

See the pattern?? it a process of elimination

I dont know what is wrong with your computer i would say most wouldnt even if they have had the same issue it could be something else thats causing the problem !
