Question PC won't boot in with ram in channel A slots

Background: I recently installed a new AIO for my CPU because it would overheat, bluescreen, or games would crash. CPU would run at 90-100 with a game running or 60-70 idle. I installed the AIO and all went smoothly. I noticed the temps weren't much better so I opened up my PC again and cleaned and applied new thermal paste (MX-4). Afterward, my PC wouldn't boot but will turn on (lights and fans were on). It would say no signal to monitor and peripherals wouldn't turn on. I saw on this forum someone recommended trying one stick of ram and moving it over in each slot. I did this and it finally would boot. CPU temps now <70 on heavy load. Now, I only use 2 sticks of ram in on the channel B slots.

Problem: Currently if ANY stick of ram is installed in my Channel A slots on the motherboard my computer won't boot. I'd assume that my motherboard was damaged while applying the paste. Does anyone know anything else that could have caused this?
