[SOLVED] PCIE 3.1 SSD on a PCIE 3.0 slot?

Hello!

I do have the ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F GAMING(https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-X470-F-GAMING/specifications/ ). I read that this motherboard only supports

PCIE 3.0 x 4

but i wanted to buy the PATRIOT VPN100 2TB(https://www.anandtech.com/show/14143/patriot-launches-viper-vpn100-ssds ). As i saw this SSD needs

PCIE 3.1 x 4

Will it make any difference for the performance? Will i have a performance loss?

A PCIe 3.1 SSD will work on a PCIe 3.0 motherboard for sure but you obviously won't get the benefits that PCIe 3.1 offers. So there's little point buying a PCIe 3.1 SSD for your current rig, especially if it's considerably more expensive than a PCIe 3.0 one (unless you plan on upgrading to a PCIe 3.1 motherboard in the near future).
