[SOLVED] Pcie M.2 adapter in server HP DL360p Gen8

(before I will start, sorry for my bad english 😕)

I'm thinking about connecting Asus hyper m.2 x16 card v2 to the my HP server. My question is, if it will work and connecting card depends on chipset or cpu pcie lines?

You might be able to use it as a data drive, but I don't know if you can boot off of it.

I believe the gen8's only support dual bifurcation and not quad.

thank you for your response. Also Im thinking about HP Z Turbo Drive Dual - of course without their ssd in it(https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1444625-REG/hp_4yf60aa_z_turbo_drive_dual.html ), if more native adapter will work better than Asus.

See if you have the bios option to split your x16 slots up in x4 x4 x4 x4 mode. If so then you have quad and can run it.
If you have x8 x8 then you have dual and cannot. This might work though, HP's tend to be picky...https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071S3ZY8P

If you don't have those setting then you are limited to just a single M2 riser card.
