Pentium 4 compatibility

I would like to know if a pentium 4 2.8 ghz with an 800 mhz bus speed will work on a motherboard with a G41 or G31 chipset? And also will it support DDR3?

it will. i used to have P4 with G31 chipset before this. but if you really want to be sure check the cpu compatibility for the mobo.

Doubtful has to be socket lga 775, here is G41 select compatible products http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/36520 and here is G31 http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/30686
The DDR3 support is based on the motherboard!

It is a socket 775 and the buddy before you said he used one on G31 even thought in ain't on the list, probably still works just its pretty old and they didn't put it on the list

The cpu is a Intel Pentium 4 Processor 521 supporting HT Technology
(1M Cache, 2.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)

Can be but lga 775 was produced for a long time and CPU support was always confusing check the motherboard CPU support list as suggested above! You will find it at the manufacturers website!
