I have Windows XP Pro installed on a relatively new IBM ThinkPad T41 with 768
Meg of RAM.
My performance issues started when I installed Norton Anto Virus 2005 on my
laptop. I have since taken it off and replaced it with AVG. My performance
is better than it was with Norton 2005 running but worse than it was before I
installed Norton 2005.
If I go into the task manager I see that the run32dll.exe is taking up about
96 to 98% of my CPU utilization.
Any ideas as to what I am going to need to do in order to improve my laptops
performance? I sure hope it is not going to be to reformat my hard drive and
reload all of my applications.
Thanks.
Rick
