I recently ordered the 150xt picopsu kit, and got an adapter for the 4 pin atx cpu cable, so it could be used in an 8 pin slot. I also got a 12v 150w ac-dc power adapter with the same polarity as the picopsu's 5.5/2.5mm DC in connector, since the kit did not come with an ac-dc adapter with that connecter (the one it came with had a 4pin DC in connector). The motherboard is the gigabyte x570 pro wifi. The computer won't turn on, and I was hoping someone may be able to guess at what I've done wrong. The picopsu is plugged into the ac-dc adapter (link below), and the 12v 4 pin atx cable is sent through an 8 pin converter (link below) and plugged into the motherboard's cpu power slot. I am stumped.

Solution
That's right.

Your CPU consumes 65W max, that's true.
However, your system is not only your CPU.

Your RAM consumes around 5W for each stick.

Your M.2 SSD consumes 1-2W.

Your fan consumes around 2W.

Finally, the biggest factor on why your computer doesn't work, is because your motherboard also consumes power. Most of the time, even bigger than your CPU.
Motherboards consume around 50-150W.

Find a bigger PSU, around 250W. That's the sweet spot for your system.

Tell us your PC specs (all of them, not just CPU, GPU, RAM)

Motherboard: Gigabyte x570 pro wifi (itx)
CPU: Ruzen 5 3400g (65w tdp)
GPU: none (integrated cpu graphics)
Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V series 32gb (2x16gb)
M.2 Drive: Samsung 970 evo
CPU fan: Noctua NH-l9i
DC-DC power supply: Picopsu 150xt
AC-DC power adapter: 150 watt 4 pin brick (link to the power supply kit in the above post)
Case: Morex 557 (https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-005H-00006?item=9SIAB944NA4300)
4pin to 8pin adapter for cpu power slot: OOMIAK (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07R132S5K?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title)
Another 150w adapter that I tried: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007PSZ6DQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title)

That’s it. Those are all the components in the build. I tried the picopsu with the 2 power adapters listed (by switching out the DC in cord), no dice for either one.

Will do. I had some misconceptions about motherboard power draw. Thank you for the advice!
