I have a P2 266@350 the multiplyer is unlocked. I can raise the voltage up to 3.00 but no more on the board. the multiplyer goes from 2 - 4.5 I have had it at 66*4.5(300), 75*4.5(337), 83*4(332) and 100*3.5(350) benchmarking the 350 is the best because of the memory at 100. Does anyone know whats the max i can get out of this without spending much money. It runs very cool at 350mhz using 2 case fans, thermal compound and a good cpu fan. I can buy a new one thats not the point its in a 3rd machine on my home network. I just want the most out of the old thing it still can run quake 3 with my viper550.

Sounds to me like you are getting the most out of it already. Your overclocking it at 50% greater than the spec for the chip and that aint half bad.

My PII 233 can do 350 but it is unstable. I'm only using the fan that came with it and the cheapest heat transfer compound money can buy. If you haven't got 128MB of RAM on it definitely go for it as I now get reasonable frame rates on Unreal Tournament with a PCI v550 where as with 64 it was unplayable (Win2k probably doesn't help!). If you get a good cooler then you should be able to do more than 350. DOes it post at 400?

Hey Craoker.

I am running my PII 266 at 350 MHZ as well.I am stillusing the original fan which came with the processor with L2 Cache enable and AGP to CPU ratio set at 2/3 and it is running sweet ass. That's the max it will go however and I am happy with it running at this speed. I have 256 of PC133 and the whole system is smoking, thinking of getting a GeForce MX to boost up the frame rates but that will have to wait till my bonus this year.

So, like I said that's the max my PII 266 will run stable. 350MHZ is good enough for me. Planning to get another PIII 1 GIG mid of this year but we shall see how that goes and make my 350MHZ as a server.

AWESOME overclocking but still compared to some others, it nothing. Oh.. Using a BH6 100 X 3.5

Cheers,

Mike
